《律政俏佳人》是一部校園喜劇片。據說，金髮美女也是社會偏見的受害人羣，洛杉磯姑娘艾麗(瑞茜·威瑟斯彭)就是個活生生的例子。她是個人見人愛的俏佳人，女生聯誼會的主席，活潑健康的陽光女孩，大學的校花，一個女孩想要的，她全都有了，照理說不該再有煩惱。可就因爲她是天生的金髮美女，麻煩就來了。

本來艾麗和學校裏最酷的帥哥沃納(馬修·戴維斯)拍拖拍得好好的，一心巴望着嫁給他，作沃納·亨廷頓三世夫人，做夢也想不到沃納壓根就不想娶她，理由竟然是艾麗長得太漂亮，太金髮美女。沃納來自東海岸一個精英家庭，從小受的教育就是：頭髮黃，見識短，金髮美女個個頭腦空空。所以，沃納在進哈佛法學院之後，不但把艾麗甩了，還和過去預科時的舊女友重修舊好。

艾麗實在是不甘心，使出貼身追擊的絕招，跟着沃納也去了哈佛法學院。她要做給沃納看，她不但有美貌，而且有智慧。不過，哈佛可不是個好玩的地方，艾麗在行的所有流行玩意這兒都沒有，在那些高深莫測的學生精英堆裏，開朗外向的`艾麗是個不折不扣的另類，到處碰壁，不斷遭人奚落。在沃納現任女友的“刺激”下，艾麗開始發憤苦讀。在一系列啼笑皆非的事情發生後，艾麗最後還是有機會證明自己，爲一樁謀殺案的嫌疑犯辯護成功，獲得愛情與事業的雙重幸福。
